Jennie Wiegand, Certified Wedding Planner
You know how everyone thinks they want to be about 20 different things “when they grow up”? Well, I was no different. I went through my phases of thinking I could be a teacher, a dancer, a dress designer, a banker, an astronaut, etc etc, finally landing on a finance major during my first year of college at MSU. I pursued the degree with the same fervor I use in all elements of my life and graduated with a bachelors in finance with high honors in the spring of 2004. I then took my post-collegiate self and began a 5 year career in the auto industry. And while the job was fulfilling and brought a nice paycheck, I found that it just wasn’t what I loved.
I began to discover my passions while planning for my own nuptials to my high school sweetheart in the winter of 2005. I, like so many other brides, was immersed in dresses and flowers and cakes and photographers and designs and centerpieces and attendants gifts and colors and oh my, there was a lot! And I found that I LOVED it! I loved the details, I loved the organization it involved and believe it or not, I found that I was pretty darn good at it! Then fun continued after my own wedding, when I was involved with numerous weddings of family and friends, affording me a chance to further my organization and “day-of” coordination skills. It was during one of these weddings, while running up and down two flights of stairs in 3 inch heels, that it hit me....”This is what I want to do with my life!”
Knowing that this “hobby” may become something more, I set to further myself again. In turn, I earned a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Economics and Entrepreneurship from Oakland University in 2008, followed by my Wedding Planner Certification. Finally, in the fall of 2008, I left my career in the automotive industry and began working on Beautiful Day Planning, LLC full-time. The business was born in the state of Michigan January 1, 2009 and has resulted in countless weddings and events in the past few years. It has also resulted in me finding my true passion in life - creating the best, most beautiful, and most stress-free weddings possible for my clients!
